Compulsory Coach of the Year Fall 2025
Nominations
Monica Subieata (Ultimate Sports Connection)
I am thrilled to nominate Monica Subieata for
Compulsory Coach of the Year. For the past six years, Monica has
been my business partner and co-head coach at Ultimate Sports
Connection. Her dedication is truly unmatched, often working
over 20 hours a day to ensure the success of our team and
athletes.
Monica is not only a phenomenal coach but also
a devoted mother, supporting her 11-year-old daughter's dream of
becoming an elite athlete by driving her to Airborne four days a
week for training.
Despite her busy schedule, she efficiently
manages half of our business operations, including planning team
parties, coordinating competition schedules, handling payroll,
organizing uniforms, and more. Her commitment extends beyond our
business as she balances her roles as a mother and an
outstanding coach.
Under her guidance, our competitive athletes
have surpassed all expectations, achieving remarkable success.
It is with great admiration and respect that I nominate Monica
Subieata for this prestigious award. Her passion, dedication,
and impact on both our business and athletes make her truly
deserving of the title Compulsory Coach of the Year.
Matt Hodges and Dallas Becerra
As the owner of a competing gym, I know this
nomination is expected to go toward someone on my own staff. But
this compulsory season, one program stood out above the rest —
Accel Gymnastics.
Meet after meet, Matt Hodges and Dallas
Becerra brought athletes to competitions who were not only
exceptionally prepared, but also confident, composed, and
genuinely happy to be there. Their teams competed with a level
of sportsmanship and joy that was impossible not to notice.
At the State Championships, Accel delivered
such strong performances, earning team titles in Level 3 and
Level 4, an unofficial 1st place finish in Level 2, and 4th
place finish in Level 5. Even more impressive was the
consistency across the entire team, with State Team
members represented at every level.
Results alone are not what make great coaches.
What stood out most this season was the culture Matt and Dallas
have created. Their athletes compete with confidence, support
one another as well as other teams, and clearly love the sport.
In an environment that can sometimes feel stressful and overly
serious, it was refreshing to see these coaches and athletes
smiling, encouraging others, and bringing positive energy to
every meet.
For their outstanding competitive success,
leadership, and the example they set for our gymnastics
community, I am honored to nominate Matt Hodges and Dallas
Becerra of Accel Gymnastics for Compulsory Coaches of the Year.
