Compulsory Coach of the Year Fall 2016
Sunny Hulse (CCG's Girls Compulsory Team Coach)
We are proud to nominate, Sunny Hulse. It is her 3rd year as the Compulsory Girls Team Coach. She has worked so well with all those in this program, developed amazing athletes in all compulsory levels, and had significant improvement and results since her arrival.
Sunny is a very motivated coach, she comes in early, works on lesson planning, strategizes with the other coaches in the program, over see's CCG's developmental program which feeds our team, and trains all the Recreational Coaches, who instruct at the beginning levels, and whose children are then incorporated into our girls teams of either JO or Xcel. Sunny works very hard at creating a wonderful environment for our girls to train in, including doing some very fun bonding events through out the summer, hosting our girls team slumber party, and motivating charts and goals through out the year.
Sunny is a huge asset to CCG's success in this program which has been growing strongly over the past 3 years. We currently have about 35 girls on our teams with about 35+ more in developmental and pre team groups. Sunny goes above and beyond to help these girls achieve success and fulfillment in each day of training.
Some Results we have had over the past year include:
Level 3 State, Ella Ranta 1st AA, 1st Vault, 2nd Beam & Floor, 3rd Bars
Level 3 State, Adrina Asuncion 1st AA, 1st Bars, & 1st Beam
Level 3 State, Carli Peterson 1st Bars, 3rd on AA & Beam
Level 3 State, Lucy Davis-Ross 2nd on Floor
Level 3 State, Audrey Wilder 2nd on Beam
Level 5 State, Kiana McCrea 2nd on Vault & Floor.
Level 5 State, Erika Matthews 3rd on Beam
Level 4 State, Lindsay Van Duren 3rd on Bars
Plus, countless placements in each meet leading up to the State Championships. We hope you will consider recognizing Sunny Hulse as the Nor Cal Compulsory Coach of the Year, she is well deserved of this honor.
Allan Fusilero - Twisters Sports
It is my pleasure to nominate Allan Fusilero gym owner, manager, head compulsory and optional coach of Twisters Sports in Sunnyvale. He coaches every competitive J.O level from 3-10. Not only is he a gifted and natural teacher, he owns and runs the entire gym, offers training for his staff, a mentor program, and he is an amazing Daddy to three beautiful sweet girls.
He has a pure passion and respect for the sport, and he dedicates himself to managing each gymnast's career. His practices are extremely productive, well-thought out, and entertaining at the same time. He inspires all who work with him-both students and coaches. His love of gymnastics comes through in his coaching and his gymnasts respond to him and enjoy learning.
Allan has steadily improved Twisters'
competitive program throughout the years. It's standings have
gradually improved as well culminating in a top 3 showing at
the Level 4 State Championships this past year.
He led Twisters to a personal record of 20 state championship titles in 2016. At Level 5 States, Twisters placed 3rd as a team on Vault and the Uneven Bars. Nearly all Twisters' level 5 competitors finished in the top 3 in their age groups on both Vault and Bars. At Level 3 States, with only 2 gymnasts, they combined for a total of 5 state titles. Both girls winning Bars and All-Around. Twisters saw its biggest accomplishments at Level 4 States where they broke into the top 3 overall. As a team, Twisters was 3rd on Vault and Floor, and they won Uneven Bars with the highest team score for that event from both the North and South championships. Allan led his team to its first banner this past year.
Allan is an incredible, creative, passionate, and inspiring coach who sacrifices so much for so many others. His background has helped him become a great technician, a hard worker, and still be able to keep humor and fun when training, which as you all know, sometimes is no easy task. I believe Allan's results and rewarding approach make him my standout nominee for Compulsory Coach of the Year 2016!
Casey Pires - West Valley Gymnastics School
My nomination for Compulsory Coach of the Year goes to Casey Pires of West Valley Gymnastics.
Casey has demonstrated extreme dedication to not only her gymnasts, but gymnasts of the entire NorCal community.
Casey’s gymnasts earn accolades on the competitive field in compulsory gymnastics; but then continue successfully into the optional program due to her thorough and meticulous progressions and expectations. While Casey has high standards for all of her gymnasts, she is able to lead and direct her gymnasts through positive reinforcement.
She also believes in mentoring new coaches to add to the NorCal coaching community.
In addition to coaching, she regularly shares her knowledge by posting helpful drills for Vault and Bar skills for any coach to view and learn from.
Casey Pires is a true asset to the Nor Cal community.
Trina Saul - Clovis Academy of Gymnastics
I would like to nominate Trina Saul (Clovis Academy of Gymnastics) for Coach of the Year. Trina is an exceptional coach. She commits many hours to her team in and out of the gym. Through the years I have observed her passion, care and work ethic that she puts forth for her teams and her club. She has always gone above and beyond what is expected and strives to have each gymnast reach their individual goals and excellence.
She has had many years of success. Her gymnasts have consistently placed at the top throughout her coaching career.
Not only is she dedicated to her teams but to the sport of gymnastics as a whole.Thank you for your consideration of this nomination.
